Fine Dining On The Gold Coast – Our Favourite Eating Experiences, Including Degustation!
Salt Grill | Surfers Paradise
With the exceptional culinary expertise of head chef Luke Mangan, the Salt Grill has received a myriad of accolades for their remarkable menu and outstanding ambiance. Stellar views of Orchid Avenue and an open kitchen provide plenty of excitement during the dining experience. Situated right inside the Hilton Surfers Paradise, this spectacular eatery is open for breakfast, lunch (Friday only), and dinner.
Most patrons choose to participate in the five or seven course degustation meal, starting at $95 per guest, which is meticulously selected and perfected by Chef Luke himself. The menu includes a variety of fresh fish, pork, and succulent beef, as well as superb desserts like chocolate torte, crème brulee, and cherry soufflé.
In our opinion, Salt Grill do some of the best degustation courses on the gold coast.
Spicers Peak Lodge | Maryvale
Backed by several prestigious awards, (including the Chef’s Hat for 2013 & 2014) The Peak is the onsite eatery at the renowned Spicers Peak Lodge, which is an exclusive mountain getaway located in the breathtaking mountains of Queenland’s Scenic Rim. The interior of this intimate venue features rustic wood and stone accents & it really does feel like you’ve gotten completely away from hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast.

Black Coffee Lyrics | Surfers Paradise
Affordable, unpretentious fine dining on the Gold Coast is how we best described Black Coffee Lyrics. Craft beers, good wine and affordable degustation and or a la carte meals.
Black Coffee Lyrics is the culmination of many years experience in the restaurant industry as well as a collaborative effort of three friends who are passionate about providing an impeccable dining experience. This creative eatery has evolved into a renowned restaurant that provides exceptional cuisine for breakfast (Saturday & Sunday), lunch, and dinner (Tuesday through Sunday).
Poached eggs, smoked salmon, and crispy bacon are just a few of the offerings on their breakfast menu. Mid day meals provide patrons with a variety of sandwiches and salads. At dinner, you might consider ordering a homemade pizza or pasta.
Check out their three course chef’s special dinner which is exclusively offered on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Vanitas Restaurant | Main Beach
Given the fact that Vanitas Restaurant is situated in Palazzo Versace, tells you a thing or two already. Given the fact that it’s also one of the most highly reviewed restaurants on the Gold Coast probably tells you everything else you need to know.
But here is another pleasing fact, while it’s definitely not cheap fare, it’s far from the most expensive dining option and considering the quality of the food, it’s amazing value for anyone who loves fine dining like we do. The location and atmosphere is also spectacular.
Most people come to Vanitas for the degustation of which they also have an entirely vegetarian option. Degustation dishes for meat lovers include suckling pig and aged eye fillet or for our vegetarian friends, their dishes include a Violet gnocchi and a vegetable consomme.
Degustation prices start from $135 per person for both options and if you want to include matching wines, that starts from $199 per person.
Seaduction | Surfers Paradise
Seaduction is the creation of well known Executive Chef Steve Szabo. With it’s sweeping views of the ocean and seasonal fresh produce, we can think of few better places to enjoy a great view and great food.
We’re not the only ones who love Seaduction, as they are a 2015 Chef Hat recipient as well.
When it comes to their food, they offer both a la carte and degustation menus and all meals have a touch of molecular gastronomy to them!
