What we looked for while compiling this list of the best high tea in Sydney, was more than just price and a selection of food they serve, which is important of course, but it was more the overall experience.

High Tea Delights | Bexley
If you are looking for high tea catering in Sydney, this is the place!
Chris is the founder of High Tea Delights, which is a well known business that many celebrities choose to hire for their special occasions. High Tea Delights is a mobile high tea catering service in Sydney allowing you to choose the venue of your choice, whether it is at your home, business, or even a wedding!
They offer 4 china sets to choose from, which are carefully sourced from different locations all around the world and their cutlery and silverware is imported from Sheffield England.
High Tea Delights offers 3 packages catering for a minimum of 15 to 30 guests ranging in price from $30 PP to $55 PP.
They offer a wide selection of food including finger sandwiches, savouries of your choice and a selection of T2 Tea. They also provide kid friendly high tea packages which are free from caffeine, lactose and nuts.
The Tea Room, QVB | CBD
At The Tea Room, QVB, you will come across one of the most exquisite tea rooms that Sydney has to offer, situated in the ball room of the old Queen Victoria building. In 2014 Manuel Spinola the CEO of The Tea Room decided to redecorate the ceiling to showcase the beauty of the ball room with Baccarat Crystal chandeliers.
You can treat yourself to a daily morning and afternoon tea or you can try their a-la-carte menu for lunch between 12-3pm. Reservations are preferred during their morning and afternoon teas.
When it comes to their afternoon teas, they offer great finger food, including sandwiches, scones and savoury bites and a vast selection of teas to choose from. You can also upgrade to a sparkling, cocktail or champagne afternoon tea as well.
They also do something a little different as they offer Oriental afternoon tea as well. Prices for their afternoon teas start from $45 per person.
They also specialise in weddings, with room for up to 200 guests, and some of their menu items include hot and cold canapés and a range of exquisite desserts.
The Victoria Room | Darlinghurst
As you walk through the doors of The Victoria Room, you will be overwhelmed by the ambiance of this magnificently transformed award winning restaurant and bar owned by the Manassen family, well known for their experience in the food industry.
Open for high tea from 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays and 2:30pm to 5pm on Sundays, you have a choice of 4 high tea packages ranging in price from $45 per person for the Classic high tea to $65 per person for the Diamond high tea, which includes a glass of Mumm champagne.
The Victoria Room also cater for children’s high teas up to the age of 12, for $30 per person.
All of The Victoria Rooms high tea packages have a range of sandwiches, sweet and savoury dishes, scones and a nice selection of teas, including herbal infusions.
They also do both vegetarian and vegan high tea.
Vaucluse House Tearooms | Vaucluse
Set amongst 10 hectares of beautifully maintained gardens, you will find the Vaucluse House Tearooms, adjacent to the 1830’s mansion Vaucluse House which was originally built for William Charles Wentworth and his family.
You can enjoy the tearooms Colonial High Tea from Wednesday to Sunday for $49.00 per person for a minimum of 2 guests.
Sample some of their delicious and fine quality food including a range of savoury dishes like, smoked salmon on brioche and vegetable and avocado fingers, and sweet delights like apple snow and scones with berry jam and cream.
They also have an all-day High Tea designed for two at $49 per person, where you can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine with your sweet and savoury food. Vaucluse House advises that bookings are essential.
Intercontinental Sydney | CBD
Located within the Intercontinental Sydney, The Cortile Lounge is perfectly positioned close by to the Sydney Botanic Gardens and The Sydney Opera House. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to The Cortile Lounges High Tea.
They offer 2 High Tea Menus, the first being The Cortile’s All About Berries Afternoon Tea, 3 tier stand, which runs from Monday to Friday 11am to 5:30pm costing $55 per person with a glass of sparkling, or $70 per person with a glass of champagne.
Their other menu is a weekend menu called All About Berries Weekend Afternoon Tea Affair In The Cortile. It runs for 2 sessions starting from 1pm and costs $60 per person with a glass of sparking, or $75 per person with a glass of champagne.
The Langham | CBD
You are sure to enjoy your high tea experience at The Langham Sydney’s Palm Court’s afternoon tea in partnership with Wedgewood as you look out and see the harbour views and relax in their plush seating which can seat up to 70 guests.
From Monday to Friday you will pay from $55 per person and on Saturday and Sunday you will pay from $65 per person. Their selection of food includes homemade pastries and tea cakes, freshly baked scones, savoury items and a wide selection of teas.
Palm court is open for afternoon tea with Wedgewood each day from 12pm to 5pm.
Westin Sydney | CBD
The Bar, Lounge And Room at The Westin Sydney, has been designed to cater for any occasion and offers the perfect location for their signature afternoon teas. Whether it be by the fire in the Lobby Room or in their Lounge you will feel truly relaxed with their surrounds.
You will love their choice of 2 afternoon tea menus, The Heritage or Mad Hatter, which is served from 12-6pm each day.
For a more modern touch The Heritage afternoon tea will treat you with delights such as, smoked salmon triple stack with caper berries, crunchy profiteroles with Belgium chocolate, scones with homemade jam and cream and of course tea and coffee.
Prices start from $49 per person.
If you would like to take an adventure into the world of The Mad Hatter, then the Mad Hatters afternoon tea is the perfect choice. The menu includes scrumptious sweet and savoury items named from the characters in Alice In Wonderland, scones, tea and coffee.

The Tea Salon | CBD
After a long day of shopping, nothing is better than heading off to enjoy a lavish high tea at The Tea Salon, which is located within Westfield Sydney.
If you are truly a shopaholic or love fashion The Tea Salon offers a high tea package with their personal stylist Kash O’Hara. The package includes the Classic High Tea and finishes with a one hour power shop with Kash and costs $195 per person or $300 for two people.
The Tea Salon’s other high teas include their Classis High Tea which includes an assortment of ribbon sandwiches, sweets and a variety of teas, costing $43 per person. Their children’s high tea includes sandwiches, scones and a choice of milkshake flavours and costs $19.95 for each child.
Hills Lodge Hotel | Castle Hill
Within the Hills Lodge Hotel you will find Nobles Restaurant, a place to enjoy high tea at any time of the year, whether it be out on the courtyard in summer or sitting by the open fire in winter.
Treat yourself to one of two of their high tea menus on either Friday from 12pm to 4pm or on Saturday from 12pm to 3pm. The Classic High Tea includes a selection of food for 2 people with a choice of tea, coffee and a sparkling wine Piccolo and costs $42 per person.
The indulgent high tea costs $62 per person for two people and includes a choice tea, coffee and a Moet champagne piccolo.
Each high tea comes with a selection of mini cakes and tarts, chocolate strawberries, scones and ribbon sandwiches.
Boronia Tea Rooms | Mosman
Away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s CBD you will find Boronia Tea Rooms, a historical and heritage listed building in Mosman surrounded by Reservoir Park and built in 1885.
High tea at Boronia runs from 11am to 3pm on weekdays and from 10:30am to 3:30pm on weekends. They have 6 different high tea packages to choose from and even high tea for juniors.
If you are after something a little bit special, we’d recommend their Champagne High Tea for $69pp, which comes with a glass of Moet, and of course access to their range of T2 teas.
All high teas come with a selection of ribbon sandwiches, savoury snacks, scones, cakes and deserts for you to choose from.
Burnt Orange | Mosman
Imagine enjoying your high tea at a gorgeous sandstone mansion overlooking Sydney Harbour. Burnt Orange offers a treat for your senses.
Voted No. 2 Best High Tea in Sydney in 2014 by Time Out Magazine, indulge in a selection of sweet and savoury treats served on Avoca Crockery.
High tea is by reservation only. $35 for high tea per person or $45 Sparkling high tea (glass of veuve tailhan sparkling wine). Antipasti, vegetarian & cheese platter options available.
Sheraton on the Park | CBD
Casual yet contemporary. The Gallery Tea Lounge located within Sheraton on the Park, offers visitors a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city.
High Tea delivers a three tiered stand of delicacies from the pastry kitchen and accompanied by Vittoria coffee, Twining’s fine leaf tea, Penelope Sach’s organic herbal tea or a rich decadent hot chocolate.
The Fashion High Tea stand is $89 for two people or if you are feeling a little bubbly… the Sparkling Tea Stand includes a glass each of Domain Chandon Brut for $109.
Sadhana Kitchen | Enmore
Experience Sydney’s Sadhana Kitchen where everything is made from organic seasonal produce and is a true labour of love.
This is definitely high tea with a difference… Organic raw vegan high tea is available for three ninety minute sittings a day for a maximum twelve guests. Includes mouth-watering temptations like; Coconut bacon pizzette’s, Eggplant pastrami rolls and an assortment of mini cakes.
Minimum of two people for $55 each. Bookings essential and late cancellations incur charges.
Food Society | Darlinghurst
This summer, Food Society have been seeking out plenty of fresh flowers, new wines, vintage collectables and lights to enhance your dining experience with an old-world atmosphere.
Their 2014 Award winning, Vodka High Tea, is available on Saturday’s only. You will be treated to an array of handmade canapés including Duck vol u vents and chocolate truffles matched with Vodka based iced tea cocktails.
Depending on your selected beverage, prices range from $45 – $65 per person.
Gunners Barracks | Georges Heights
Superb harbour views from Gunners Barracks will be a stunning backdrop for your High Tea experience in this heritage listed location.
Treated as a delicate affair, high tea is presented on a tiered stand – scones, sandwiches, delectable cakes and savoury pastries along with a selection of Ronnefeldt teas. All served on delicate English china.
Spoilt for choice… five high tea options varying between $45 – $65. Children are welcome to indulge at a price of $25.
